Are You trying to get your mirror to look aged? Well you have come to the right place. In the past 2 years I have written a lot on decorative mirrors handcraftedand extetensive writing has helped a number of home owners all over the world. If you want to be one those people then I suggest you take a few minutes to read through this brief but useful article.

You can convert the glass area of the frame to look like an aged mirror using a variety of ways. For those of you who are not using unframed mirrors you even have an option to convert the frame to a tray. {You Can do this even withThis can even be done with} some best makeup mirror

Some of the options you can use include gelatin or silver. You can also consider using an aluminum leaf. I know that most chemical kits cost something like $90 for 300 square feet but if you are looking for something cheaper than that then do consider trying out the aluminum leaf.

I must mention that that this does not always work effectively especially due to the fact that it is not easy to remove the grey paint on the back of most new mirrors.

So another option is to use what is known as Antique Mirror Patina| Antique Mirror Patina  is another option you can consider for this project, which is a water based alkaline solution, a water based solution made from alkaline and simulates the tarnish and old look of an antique mirror in a new one. To cover a square feet you may have to spend something like $2, which could add up to about $80 for a standard mirror.

These are a sample of options to consider when trying to convert your oversized decorative mirrors or any type to make it look aged. I do believe that what I have provided will help you get started.
